Shital Parikh is a seasoned Master Gardener, having earned the title in 2014 alongside her Master Composter certification. With a deep-seated passion for horticulture, Shital has dedicated her life to the cultivation of food, pollinator gardens, and native plants. She practiced Bokashi composting techniques in her community, well before they became a staple in San Diego’s gardening circles.

When COVID had us all talking to our plants, Shital helped sprout the Del Mar Mesa Garden Club and presides as the President of Friends of Del Mar Mesa, a nonprofit organization for habitat preservation and education. Furthermore, her commitment to ecological preservation is evident through her involvement in the San Diego Biodiversity Task Force.

Shital is a humble advocate for sustainable gardening, planting seeds of knowledge. Forever planting seeds of knowledge, to make the world a greener place, one school and community at a time. Her journey is rooted in lifelong learning and a commitment to a blossoming future. She has been growing vegetables in San Diego for over two decades.
